Facebook news feeds and the Twittersphere were immediately inundated with messages about the new ban on guns and how target kicked out gun owners. But did Target ban guns?
Molly Snyder, a Target spokeswoman, said the retailer will not post signs at its stores asking people not to bring guns inside. "It is not a ban," she said. "There is no prohibition."
Harassed by Bloomberg's minion Shannon Watts and her Moms Demand Action group, Target followed in the footsteps of Chipotle, Starbucks, and other national chains by "respectfully asking" patrons not to open carry in their business while making it clear they are not banning anything.
It seems like the gun control gurus are as baffled by the difference between lip service and meaningful action as they are by the difference between semi-automatic and fully-automatic.
I guess if I spent $50 million dollars to fund a failed group, I'd find trumped up reasons to celebrate too.
