Across the nation people showed up in numbers to protest Obama trying to force feed the American people their idea of gun control. with rally’s and guns shows happening all over the USA in support of rights it never fails, someone lets their guard down in all the excitement and who-ha. The unspeakable happens and someone doesn't follow gun safety rules and a gun goes off injuring 3 people in one show at no less the safety check point. This is the last thing we need at a trying time; more Fuel to build a bigger fire.

Naturally the string other incidents in with it to add more bite. pay more attention when carrying and don't be one of these news articles

one more on the same day

As much as I hate to admit this; once when I first started carrying, I didn't clear my chamber when I went into a gun show and handed it to the officer checking. Fortunately (for me and everyone else) he saw it, lectured me a little, cleared the round and that was it. I admit it was one of the dumbest things I've ever done; and if you know me, that is saying something. I felt like such an idiot that it ruined the rest of my day, but it could have turned out much worse. I am almost glad that it happened, it has made me more safety conscious now than I was then. I can confidently say that that will never happen again.

I feel for the guy who owns that gun, I can only imagine how he must feel. But lets not forget, the officer still pulled the trigger before checking the gun.

First thing I thought was ...poor guy and wounded. 2nd thing I thought was this will be used by the antis to argue against gun shows. Fortunately no one was killed.

I was there when Jayson pulled his humdinger and left the round in the chamber. You could see he felt like an ass for the rest of the day. But thats why those guys are there...to check guns in a safe manner. its one of those jobs that requires extreme vigilance so its disappointing that this can happen. I remember the old man who was checking by gun. I knew it was unloaded. I unloaded it, but still when he checked the chamber, he had the gun pointed right at me. I was pretty pissed. I feel like they always get this super old need to retire already arthritic hands cops to check guns at the gun show. not cool. not cool at all.

As much as I hate to say it he needs to be charged; this was an avoidable accident! The damage done is going to be a ripple that will go far and wide. This was negligence pure and simple, he violated so many rules and someone got hurt because of it

Maybe so, but how do you charge the gun owner without charging the officer (you know, the person that actually pointed the shotgun at people and pulled the trigger). By my count, thats one screw up by the gun owner and two by the officer.

are we reading the same article? this was the very last update:

CNN is reporting that three people were injured at the gun show in Raleigh, not two as originally reported. All were victims of a shotgun that fired while the owner was removing it from a case.

it says the OWNER was removing the gun from a case and it went off, not a cop. if you have different please post it

Perhaps we are talking about different cases, or I have some bad/old info. I heard of three incidents at gun shows.
1. Owner shot himself reloading a pistol in the parking lot.
2. Dealer shot someone showing a gun; not sure what type.
3. Officer checking a shotgun at the entrance fired a round striking 3 people.

This was from CNN this morning.

We just can't afford to have mistakes, right now.
And now, another school shooting on the news. Just terrific. Texas should know how to handle this.

It wouldnt be so bad if the american public understood the difference between people with guns and criminals with guns

It’s a black eye any way you look at it. It’s hard to tell people how safe you are with a gun close by when some clown shoots 3 people. He set all the good will ever done back 5 years
