Is it pot? cop: I don't know, we better get some more experts up here (NYC)

Just ask any teen and they will tell you would have been my answer but a paranoid superintendent (must have been smoking) jumped the shark when he went to check on a leak on the roof of the building he manages. What did he see, 15 solo cups with green leafy stuff growing out of them and called the cops.

Quoted: Building superintendent Christian Delarosa, 34, “I don’t know much about plants. I’m not too good with that,” Delarosa said. “When I saw them, the first thing I thought was ‘Oh, my God.’ Right there I looked it up on my phone and they looked close to marijuana plants, but I thought I should call someone who knew about plants, so I called police.” (a lot of good that did)

“They’re not the same species; they’re not the same genus. I don’t even think they’re part of the same family,” said Mikeal Roose, chairman of Botany and Plant Sciences at the University of California, Riverside. “It’s very hard for me to see that somebody could (confuse the two). If you put the leaves side by side, you wouldn’t be able to mistake them.”

How can you tell a city slicker from a country dweller…. Country folks know what a tomato plant looks like!

Perhaps he should have been able to tell the difference (you know, with the internet and all), but no real harm done here. No one hurt, no one arrested. If you were in his shoes and you thought someone was growing pot on the roof of the building you are supposed to be managing, wouldn't you do the same thing?
