A 17 year old shoots at robbers and gets arrested for the shooting (Washington

A 17 year old was approached by 4 people he knew and they demanded his cell phone after the boy handed over the phone; the five people confronted another 17-year-old boy that they knew, according to police. The second boy pulled out a handgun and fired it at the five people, who fled.

The 17-year-old who police say fired the handgun was arrested.

Yep, in washington state, a person can not possess and handgun unless they are 21 or have adult supervision. Cops did the right thing here, what message does it send out if we do not enforce minor in possession of handgun laws. I personally believe that, if you have the right to join the military and shoot people and have the right to vote, then why not have the right to posses a handgun. I can understand waiting until the age of 21 for conceal carry permit.

 We seem to be hung up on that age thing. I read something a long time ago and it said that part of the brain didn't fully develop until the age 21 that aids in decision making... just saying


 


I will say this; I think that people are still too emotionally charged to carry a gun. just because you can vote at 18 don’t necessarily mean you are responsible enough to carry. This article supports that. He knew is attackers and should have given the phone up and filed a complaint but he chose to shoot instead. At least if an 18 year old votes wrong someone doesn't die'


 


And 18 year olds in the military are closely watched when handling a gun
