The Peanut Gallery Weighs in on Gun Control

The gun control debate has been renewed in the wake of the Dark Knight Massacre. I do enjoy reading these types of articles as I really do get both sides of the argument. In the end though, if you outlaw guns, only guns will have outlaws.

This is my fav from the article:

Rep. Louie Gohmert of Texas, a Republican, said the story made him wonder, "With all those people in the theater, was there nobody that was carrying a gun that could have stopped this guy more quickly?" (Gohmert also tied the tragedy to the "ongoing attacks on Judeo-Christian beliefs.")

Since the guy was wearing body armor and had tear gassed the place, i feel reasonably confident that me and my concealed carry wouldnt have been all that effective against him. Those damned atheists!
About the Author:
Michael is a career programmer who started easy bake gun club with his friends when they couldn't go shooting because of the great ammo shortage of 2012. When he isn't writing code or shooting guns, he can be found playing video games or recording sissy new wave nerd rock.

My favorite responses came from the LA Times:

The few other moviegoers who knew of the Colorado tragedy felt the same kind of event would not take place in Los Angeles.

"It's different in Colorado - that's middle America. I don't think that would happen here," said Fernando Lopez, 25, who heard about the shooting 20 minutes before the 6:40 a.m. screening.

"Everybody shoots each other in Colorado," added Abigail Keever, 25, who was about to head into the same screening.

It's the thin air. While I say that as a joke...i can't help but wonder if there has been any research.

You are smarter than Neil deGrasse Tyson - you figure it out.
