Actually, it's just the way CNN start's the article.
Despite the NRA's attacks President Obama has actually been very good for the 2nd amendment when you look at his actions rather than the campaign promises. The day seemed off to a rough start when the President told the National Urban League in New Orleans:
"I also believe that a lot of gun owners would agree that AK-47s belong in the hands of soldiers, not in the hands of criminals. That they belong on the battlefield of war, not on the streets of our cities."
Ironically, Mike just shrugged when he read this and Jayson's already pissed at this point in the article because that AK-47 is fun as hell to shoot
As is the norm, the President went on to say something much more sensible when asked by the media aboard Air Force One:
"Even as we debate government's role, we have to understand that when a child opens fire on another child, there's a hole in that child's heart that government alone can't fill"
Yes, it's sentimentalist mush but it's the right message - blame the nutjob, not the tool.
