Mossberg - 500

This is my BOOM STICK! - My Mossberg 500 kicks ass. With an aftermarket pistol grip on the pump and the shoulder stock I can shoot any type of cartridge and the gun stays where it is supposed to stay. The only downsides of this model with this furniture is that it is big and heavy. The heat shield and side saddle shell caddy only makes it heavier. Still the star it loses here for big and heavy it would lose in ano...
FN Herstal - Five-seveN

Its a pistol within a rifle within a pistol - This gun kind of feels like a toy in your hand but I suppose it does what it is supposed to do. It feels a little more like shooting a 22 than a normal pistol. I think the fun of this gun is probably in the different rounds you can get for it. Incendiary rounds come to mind. Regardless of the fact that we only fired standard ammo with this one, it was still extremely accurate. I only wish we ...
Izhmash - AK-47

A to the muthafuckin K homeboy - My Romanian made WASR 10 AK-47 is just plain fun. Mine is stock except for a tactical grip replacement as the standard ak grip is tiny and horrid and i don't understand why they don't just charge 20 bucks more and put the good grip on at the factory. The wood furniture heats up fast making this gun a little less than a workhorse at the range. If you plan on shooting a lot of AK without some kin...
Kel-Tec - PF-9

You Get What You Pay For - This gun came from the factory in 1 star mode. I was able to put enough work into it to get it up to 3 stars, but I am not in love with this gun by any means. The ejector/extractor had problems from the beginning and I had to forage the internet for some unorthodox solutions which I implemented (<a href="http://www.easybakegunclub.com/forum/thread/34/Kel-Tec-pf9-FTE---Failure-To-Eject-problems.h...
Walther - PPK and PPK/S

Tried and Tested - I love this gun. My Indian Arms .380 is based on it and I love that gun too, but it doesnt have the accuracy of a genuine ppk. The jump takes a little getting used to, but once you have it down you can get this baby on target quick and a nice double action/single action combo can have you loading up the bad guys with lead super fast if necessary. A little distance wont shut this baby down eithe...
Beretta - 92 Series

Jon Woo doesn't know what he's talking about. - I fired this gun a couple of times in my life and I really don't like it. While reliability is on its side, the accuracy just isn't there. I am not a crack shot or anything, but I know from experience that I can be way more accurate with other guns in the same size and caliber. The round sites are weird and the bullet doesn't seem to go anywhere close to where the sites suggest it would. There...
Smith and Wesson - Model 629

Do I Feel Lucky? - I only fired about 10 rounds from this thing. (The bullets were expensive). But it was freaking awesome. We rented this gun because we wanted something that went BOOM and it delivered. I honestly don't see how this gun is super useful in the real world past how fun it is. With such limited capacity and its clunkyness, I couldn't figure out who would choose to carry this even for duty purp...
FN Herstal - SCAR

I only fired 2 shots but they were awesome! - There was no recoil. I mean NO RECOIL. I wish I could have spent more time with this gun but it was just some random dude at the range letting us have a go at it. The only thing stopping me from buying that is the price. I imagine it will be my next assault rifle....
Para Ordnance - Warthog Single Action

Noisy Cricket - Talk about a lot of power in a little package. The first time I shot this I was too inexperienced to handle it. Limp wristing caused failure to feed after failure to feed. I thought it was broken till its owner showed me it worked fine in capable hands. Luckily I got to try it again recently and with a few years under my belt I had no problem handling it this time. So fun to shoot. The do...
Steyr - S40 / S40-A1

If Accuracy is Weird, I don't want to be normal - This compact striker is a stinger. I shot it in a 40 cal and its amazing how manageable the recoil is. Don't get me wrong. Put enough rounds down range with this puppy and your hand is going to start to ache, but all the recoil goes back not up and target reacquisition is a breeze. The unique triangular site system is extremely accurate and great for long distance. I was able to put mortal sh...
Beretta - 84FS Cheetah / 85FS Cheetah

The best handling 380 I've fired thus far - A buddy of mine brought one of these to a range meet recently so I had the opportunity to fire a couple mags. Since it was a 380 and only slightly larger than the ppk, I figured it would handle about the same. I was wrong. Even though they are 380 and heavy, PPKs tend to be snappy with the recoil. This gun was nothing of the sort. If I didn't know ahead of time that I was shooting standard bal...
CZ ceska zbrojovka - CZ 85 B

Left handed? Look no further! - The cz-75b is one of the unsung heroes of the pistol world. Tell someone you have a CZ-75 and you will probably get a deer in headlights look followed by the question "What?" But it rocks. The 85 is the same as the 75 with ambidextrous controls allowing the left handed shooter to enjoy the same reliability, accuracy and overall quality that right handed shooters get to enjoy....
CZ ceska zbrojovka - CZ-75 P-07 Duty

Infallible Tack Driving Workhorse - The cz-75 p-07 Duty is my favorite of all my handguns to shoot. It fits comfortably in my hand, points well, shoots true to its sights and has minimal felt recoil. I am able to get this gun back on target extremely fast between shots. I have easily put over 5000 rounds through this gun in the last 2 years and have had only one failure to feed (it wasnt even in my hands and im pretty sure it wa...
Ruger - SR22

Pretty Spiffy 22 pistol - This is a nice 22. Jayson bought one and brought it to the range. I warmed up with it. Its a decent way to get lose before shooting more expensive ammo. The safety is backwards which is weird. You cant unlock it from a firing position, but its not like this is the type of gun you want to carry for defense anyways. The double action pull is a little long, but the single action has a nice break a...
Smith and Wesson - M&P9

Not bad for a striker fire - This is the first striker fire gun I ever tried. I am more of a hammer kind of guy so I wasn't too excited BUT I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this gun. It was as accurate as my CZ P-07 with similar recoil. I still prefer the personality of my CZ but it was nice to find another similar gun that I might consider if my fav compact 9mm ever peters out (lord knows i fire it enough) ...
Springfield Armory - XD-S

Great 45 sub-compact or BEST 45 sub-compact? - So I finally got to fire a Springfield Armory XD-S Sub Compact.45 ACP. It single-handedly (okay double-handedly) changed my mind about buying a subcompact 1911 for a 45 carry. I have never owned a 45 and always planned to get one in a 1911. Since I hate owning guns I won't carry it was probably going to be a Kimber Ultra-Carry or a Para Ordnance Warthog. Surely the best technology for a small ...
Springfield Armory - XD9 Sub-Compact

Extremely Impressed So Far... - I purchased my Springfield Armory XD 9 Sub-compact last week from Weston Arms in Davie, Florida. The sticker price was $525. While I was able to haggle the price down to 470, I have heard of people picking this up in the lower four hundreds. I've had this gun at the range twice since I bought it for about 220 rounds. It has functioned flawlessly. No failures to eject. No failures to fire...
CZ ceska zbrojovka - CZ-83

Not the smallest .380, but a dream to shoot. - I found my CZ-83 used at a price I couldn't ignore especially since the gun is discontinued as of last year. I am a fan of CZ guns in general and since my other .380 is indefinitely out of commission, I happily added this to my collection. Shooting this gun is easy as pie. It is easy to fire, very accurate and with minimal recoil, follow up shots are spot on. I was using some standard ste...
