Springfield Armory - XD9 Sub-Compact

Extremely Impressed So Far... - I purchased my Springfield Armory XD 9 Sub-compact last week from Weston Arms in Davie, Florida. The sticker price was $525. While I was able to haggle the price down to 470, I have heard of people picking this up in the lower four hundreds. I've had this gun at the range twice since I bought it for about 220 rounds. It has functioned flawlessly. No failures to eject. No failures to fire...
Springfield Armory - XD-S

Great 45 sub-compact or BEST 45 sub-compact? - So I finally got to fire a Springfield Armory XD-S Sub Compact.45 ACP. It single-handedly (okay double-handedly) changed my mind about buying a subcompact 1911 for a 45 carry. I have never owned a 45 and always planned to get one in a 1911. Since I hate owning guns I won't carry it was probably going to be a Kimber Ultra-Carry or a Para Ordnance Warthog. Surely the best technology for a small ...
Phoenix Arms - HP25A

Fun, cheap, but not a family heirloom - Not a family heirloom because it won't last that long. But at $150, what do you expect? It shoots straight and easy and is a fun plinker. Definitely not a self-defense gun, and not just because of the light caliber--you just can't depend on it to feed or eject ammo reliably. I've had mine about 6 years and have been tempted to crush it many times. The little pistol requires a lot of "fluff an...
CZ ceska zbrojovka - CZ-83

Not the smallest .380, but a dream to shoot. - I found my CZ-83 used at a price I couldn't ignore especially since the gun is discontinued as of last year. I am a fan of CZ guns in general and since my other .380 is indefinitely out of commission, I happily added this to my collection. Shooting this gun is easy as pie. It is easy to fire, very accurate and with minimal recoil, follow up shots are spot on. I was using some standard ste...
Kel-Tec - PF-9

You Get What You Pay For - This gun came from the factory in 1 star mode. I was able to put enough work into it to get it up to 3 stars, but I am not in love with this gun by any means. The ejector/extractor had problems from the beginning and I had to forage the internet for some unorthodox solutions which I implemented (<a href="http://www.easybakegunclub.com/forum/thread/34/Kel-Tec-pf9-FTE---Failure-To-Eject-problems.h...
Israeli Weapons Industries (IWI) - TAVOR

The bullpup, evolved - The Tavor really is the next evolution of the bullpup. I've had the FS2000, the AUG, and put plenty of rounds through PS-90's. The Tavor is head and shoulders above those as a battle rifle. The compact design of the bullpup along with IWI's improvements on past bullpup issues has lead to a great rifle with only minor shortcomings: - The trigger. It's around 11lbs. but these days that feels ...
Taurus - Millennium Pro 111

I recommend women avoid low cut tops when firing the Millennium Pro 111 - I fired this gun during <a href="http://easybakegunclub.com/forum/thread/435/Sarahs-first-range-day.html">Sarahs first day at the range</a> after believing her when she said, "It's been cleaned". Of course, by the second magazine we were getting FTF's (you can even see one in the video. All it took was a tap on the mag and the round would seat just fine. I initially thought it was just Taurus...
Beretta - 84FS Cheetah / 85FS Cheetah

The best handling 380 I've fired thus far - A buddy of mine brought one of these to a range meet recently so I had the opportunity to fire a couple mags. Since it was a 380 and only slightly larger than the ppk, I figured it would handle about the same. I was wrong. Even though they are 380 and heavy, PPKs tend to be snappy with the recoil. This gun was nothing of the sort. If I didn't know ahead of time that I was shooting standard bal...
Kel-Tec - PF-9

A tiny semi-auto with a giant trigger pull - Let me start by saying that if it wasn't for Mike figuring out how to fix the ejector problem (http://easybakegunclub.com/forum/thread/34/Kel-Tec-pf9-FTE---Failure-To-Eject-problems.html), I'd have given this gun a 1. From the factory, the FTE issues were just unreasonable. You can only have a firing pin eject with the bullet so many times before you call it a day. Instead, Mike came up with th...
Smith and Wesson - Model 19 (Combat Magnum)

My favorite handgun - A .357, with a 5 inch barrel, my S&W model 19-5 is heavy enough to absorb recoil well and accurate enough to put kill shots on target easily at 50 yards (if you're a good enough shot) or maybe more. The adjustable sights help, as does the light, predictable trigger (in single action). The only problem I've ever had was a weak round that jammed a bullet in the barrel. It was ancient ammo that my ...
Para Ordnance - Warthog Single Action

A subcompact 1911? Yeah, I'll shoot that - I've been wanting to shoot the Warthog since a neighbor told us she had a gun. When we asked what kind she said, "I don't know". Mike got all gushy about how awesome it was and said he'd buy it on the spot. I think he blew the sale by talking about how great it was, but that's a conversation for another time. We finally got Wayne (a figure we were beginning to believe was related to the Loch Ne...
Ruger - SR9

Rock solid, except for the goofy trigger. - This is now my primary 9mm for tactical courses. I've been a big fan of my other Ruger firearms, so I purchased an SR9.To be honest, I was determined to use it, and it took a lot of practice to get comfortable with the stock trigger on the SR9. It's a notably long and uneven pull. I would recommend everybody who purchases an SR9 buy a replacement trigger reset bar from a third party. I bought a 5 ...
Izhmash - AK-47

A to the muthafuckin K homeboy - My Romanian made WASR 10 AK-47 is just plain fun. Mine is stock except for a tactical grip replacement as the standard ak grip is tiny and horrid and i don't understand why they don't just charge 20 bucks more and put the good grip on at the factory. The wood furniture heats up fast making this gun a little less than a workhorse at the range. If you plan on shooting a lot of AK without some kin...
CZ ceska zbrojovka - CZ-75 P-07 Duty

Infallible Tack Driving Workhorse - The cz-75 p-07 Duty is my favorite of all my handguns to shoot. It fits comfortably in my hand, points well, shoots true to its sights and has minimal felt recoil. I am able to get this gun back on target extremely fast between shots. I have easily put over 5000 rounds through this gun in the last 2 years and have had only one failure to feed (it wasnt even in my hands and im pretty sure it wa...
Springfield Armory - XD9 Sub-Compact

Everything the PF-9 was supposed to be - but better - When Mike was looking and decided on the xD subcompact, I was thrilled for two reasons. 1 - New gun to shoot!, and 2 - No more Kel-tec PF-9 repair trips The xD is absolutely fantastic in every way: Size: It's slightly bigger than the PF-9 and similar guns and, as I've said many times - I don't like the pocket guns. The xD seem like the ideal combo of size and concealment. Recoil: Mini...
Steyr - S40 / S40-A1

If Accuracy is Weird, I don't want to be normal - This compact striker is a stinger. I shot it in a 40 cal and its amazing how manageable the recoil is. Don't get me wrong. Put enough rounds down range with this puppy and your hand is going to start to ache, but all the recoil goes back not up and target reacquisition is a breeze. The unique triangular site system is extremely accurate and great for long distance. I was able to put mortal sh...
Savage Arms - Model 62/64

Reliable, accurate, easy to shoot, but a pain to clean - Everybody who lives out in the county needs one. Pest and small predator control, target practice, teaching the kids (and now the grandkids) gun safety and how to shoot, etc. Not to mention that in a survival situation you can live off squirrels and rabbits until you run out of ammo or run out of squirrels and rabbits. At $19 +/- for 550 rounds you'll probably run out of small game first. It'l...
Smith and Wesson - Model 629

Do I Feel Lucky? - I only fired about 10 rounds from this thing. (The bullets were expensive). But it was freaking awesome. We rented this gun because we wanted something that went BOOM and it delivered. I honestly don't see how this gun is super useful in the real world past how fun it is. With such limited capacity and its clunkyness, I couldn't figure out who would choose to carry this even for duty purp...
FN Herstal - SCAR

No recoil, more accurate than I am - I want it. - As I stared down the gun and knew I had to talk to the guy shooting it, I knew what it was. Let's start the conversation. A few minutes in and it's show and tell time. He goes over the basics and I listen as if I haven't read every article about it. He asks if I want to fire a few rounds and I purposely count to three before answering so i dont sound like this: P3ALwKeSEYs I take a few ro...
Steyr - S40 / S40-A1

Perfection in .40 caliber. - Simply put, I love this gun. The trapezoidal sites make target acquisition simple and quick. The steep angle and high notch in the grip allow for a very high tang grip. Combine that really high tang grip with the very short height of the slide and you've got a gun and a grip that minimizes the recoil from the .40 S&W ammo. More importantly, what recoil there is comes straight back as opposed to ki...
Windham Weaponry - AR15 MPC / SRC

New name for a familiar company. - Windham is the original Bushmaster factory and most of the staff from back before Bushmaster got bought by Freedom. After a no compete agreement expired, the original owner re-opened the factory with much of the original staff and opened under the name Windham Weaponry. So yes, a new company, but not new to the AR platform. I bought the SRC and the fit and finish is perfect. The chrome moly...
Ruger - SR22

Pretty Spiffy 22 pistol - This is a nice 22. Jayson bought one and brought it to the range. I warmed up with it. Its a decent way to get lose before shooting more expensive ammo. The safety is backwards which is weird. You cant unlock it from a firing position, but its not like this is the type of gun you want to carry for defense anyways. The double action pull is a little long, but the single action has a nice break a...
Ruger - Mark III

Excellent Target Pistol - I own a MKI and a bull barrel MKIII and have fired pretty much every iteration. I prefer the MKII slightly over the MKIII, given a choice. Depending on where and at what range you will be shooting, I suggest giving both the fluted and bull barrel a try to see what works better for you. I'm a big fan of the MK series as a target pistol. It's extremely well made for the price, accurate, and there...
Sig Sauer - P938

Super concealable 9mm for everyday carry - I just got one of these for my daily carry gun. The 6 + 1 did bother me at first, though you can get a factory 7 round magazine as well. (though it is highly overpriced in relation, with a retail price near $50) I have been to the range with it twice, and put 200 rounds through it. I had one FTE and it was my fault as I limp wristed it. I do with it was double action, but as I carried a 1911 c...
Para Ordnance - Warthog Single Action

Noisy Cricket - Talk about a lot of power in a little package. The first time I shot this I was too inexperienced to handle it. Limp wristing caused failure to feed after failure to feed. I thought it was broken till its owner showed me it worked fine in capable hands. Luckily I got to try it again recently and with a few years under my belt I had no problem handling it this time. So fun to shoot. The do...
Ruger - SR9c

Really like this gun - I like almost everything about this gun. Great trigger (very similar to the Steyr that I like). Very comfortable grip; it feels great in your hand. Points nicely with good full size, 3 dot sights. Not a bad price. When it has the stainless slide it is very attractive. And it is from Ruger, so it should be reliable. Now for the one thing that will keep me from purchasing it. The loaded chamber indi...
Walther - PPK and PPK/S

Bond. James Bond. - Who doesn't love the classic Bond gun? It's a gorgeous gun with great ergonomics for a one-handed grip. When you go to a traditional two handed grip, the size of the gun is apparent. Even in my little girl hands I feel like there's not enough gun to hold on to. Similarly, I think the size of the gun necessitated using smaller stalks for the sites and it makes for slower site acquisition. Perhap...
Springfield Armory - 1911

What a great 1911 - I just got a new Springfield armory 1911 for my birthday, and man was i impressed. It comes in a hard plastic case with two magazines and two sets of grips,One set of cocobolo hardwood and one set of black plastic. I left the wood grips on because its stainless and it makes it look classyier (thats a word) both appear to be the same size. The fit and finish on the pistol is flawless and the slide ...
FN Herstal - Five-seveN

Its a pistol within a rifle within a pistol - This gun kind of feels like a toy in your hand but I suppose it does what it is supposed to do. It feels a little more like shooting a 22 than a normal pistol. I think the fun of this gun is probably in the different rounds you can get for it. Incendiary rounds come to mind. Regardless of the fact that we only fired standard ammo with this one, it was still extremely accurate. I only wish we ...
Walther - PPK and PPK/S

Tried and Tested - I love this gun. My Indian Arms .380 is based on it and I love that gun too, but it doesnt have the accuracy of a genuine ppk. The jump takes a little getting used to, but once you have it down you can get this baby on target quick and a nice double action/single action combo can have you loading up the bad guys with lead super fast if necessary. A little distance wont shut this baby down eithe...
Sig Sauer - SP2022

I LOVE THIS WEAPON - I picked up my 2022 a couple months ago at the gun show for 399.00. I read some reviews online and some people were giving it mixed reviews. they were having problems with feeding . As of this point ive put about 500 rounds through this weapon and have not had a single issue.I bought it in 9mm, so it has a 15 round magazine capacity. Unfortunately it only comes with one magazine. On the bright sid...
Beretta - Nano

LOVE IT! - I LOVE my Beretta Nano!! When I first bought it, I had some FTE issues, Beretta replaced the extractor and she works like a charm!!! I try to conceal carry as much as possible, it's somewhat difficult with the Nano, only because of my frame size. However, after purchasing a few less fitted shirts (still stylish), I can wear it more often! Very little kick, fits beautifully in my hand, bright whi...
Kel-Tec - PF-9

Slim, light, powerful - For a $260 gun (brand new) it's a good deal--for it's intended purpose, which is concealed carry. Keep it clean, don't use it as a range gun (i.e., expect it to shoot 70+ rounds in a row without some kind of jam) and it's fine. You wouldn't want to shoot that much through it anyway. Like most of Kel-Tec's pistols, it's very light and therefore kicks pretty hard. In any case, it'll fire a coupl...
Smith and Wesson - M&P9 Compact

Awesome compact from S&W - It's an M&P. That should tell you all you need to know. Accurate and reliable. Very comfortable. Nice 12 round capacity for a compact. Recessed controls don't get in the way of the holster. Recoil is great for such a small gun. Trigger pull is smooth; even if the reset is hard to judge. It is basically the same as the full size M&P9 that I love. The only reason I don't own this gun right now is I ...
Ruger - 22/45

Pop. Pop. Pop. PopPop. PopPop. PopPopPopPopPop. That's how it starts - Realize that the 22/45 we were using had a red-dot on it and that's exactly how the shooting started. A few single shots, right into double hammers, and then 3-5 at a time with awesome accuracy. The fun factor on this gun lasted about 4-5 magazines for me and then I thought I was done. But when we had one more mag to finish off I jumped at the chance. The 22/45 is one of those sneaky fun guns b...
Smith and Wesson - M&P9

Not bad for a striker fire - This is the first striker fire gun I ever tried. I am more of a hammer kind of guy so I wasn't too excited BUT I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this gun. It was as accurate as my CZ P-07 with similar recoil. I still prefer the personality of my CZ but it was nice to find another similar gun that I might consider if my fav compact 9mm ever peters out (lord knows i fire it enough) ...
Steyr - M40 / M40-A1

Fast acquisition trapezoidal combat sights make this an easy close quarters weapon to master. - When my wife complained we didn't even have a baseball bat at home for self defense, I purchase two of these guns. After minor tweeking, the are the first line of defense in our cars and for travel. Proof of the ease with which new shooters can familarize themselves with the weapon is the fact that my wife, who had shot exactly one pistol before in her life, held a 3" group at 10 yds for her CHL q...
Mossberg - 500

Big, heavy, reliable, fun to shoot and relatively easy to clean - It's a 12 gauge shotgun, what can I say? Put out some full soda cans or 2-liter bottles, some watermelons and some zombie targets and blow 'em up. Hard to miss with general purpose 8 pellet shot, and great fun. Plus shotguns are multi-purpose. You can hunt birds or deer (with the right barrels and chokes), you can use it for 4-legged predator control, you can use it for 2-legged predator contr...
Kahr Arms - CW45

This is my EDC for all occasions. - It took a while to get used to shooting such a powerful cartridge in such a small pistol, but it was worth it. The Kahr CW45 shoots target rounds until the cows come home, but is VERY picky about the defensive cartridges that you feed it. I tried feeding the Speer Gold Dot 230 grain cartridges and I couldn't get the chambered cartridge out of the chamber. I then switched to the Hornady TAP FPD 230...
Izhmash - AK-47

Iconic. Classic. Reliable. Even Ice Cube loves it! - What can be said that hasn't already been said. It's the iconic rifle of the late 1900's and continues to be used in every corner of the world. While it has a reputation for being inaccurate, it seems to decimate the little zombie chihuahua any time I want it to and that's what matters to me. How can you not love the AK-47? Even if it is that cheap Romanian version. From Check Yo Self: Tric...
Winchester - Model 94

Wanna feel like Clint Eastwood? - My Model 94 is a Golden Spike special edition made in 1969 that was given to me by my granfather. Since I don't hunt, this gun is only for fun (wich since neither does he, I assume thats why he had it as well), and fun it is. Plus, you can't help but feel a little like Clint in one of those old western like "The Outlaw Josie Wales". It has some good kick that is part of the fun, and without the...
Kel-Tec - P-3AT

Light, easily concealed, kicks hard, needs better reliability - Good concealed carry gun. Fits easily into a front or back pocket with the correct holster. Accurate enough once you figure out how to hold the tiny grips and aim with the miniscule sights (common issues with most of these pocket guns). Kel-Tec needs to address failure-to-eject problems to gain adequate reliability. On mine the first 150 rounds fed flawlessly, then FTEs began to pop up about e...
FN Herstal - P90 / PS90

Got it. Love it. - Small rifle that looks cool, shoots great and is just plain fun. Have the FN red dot (tried larger optics and they just look funny on it) and this rifle is very accurate. Hard to find ammo, and expensive when you do, so I can't shoot it a lot. The recoil is non-existent, the fact that the round won't carry through walls much, 50 round magazine, and the size makes this a great rifle for home defens...
Springfield Armory - XD-S

An Easy Carry .45ACP - This is a .45 that is easy to carry and fairly easy to handle; it's not 9mm sub-compact easy, but still, it's a .45. I really like this gun; a lot of fun to shoot. I never wanted to own a .45 as an EDC; I've had my mind set on a new 9mm carry for some time, but now... I'm not so sure. I want this gun. Lost 1/2 star only because the grip serrations are so deep it tore up my hands, but it does p...
Kimber - Custom II

Very nice finish, quality appears excellent, lots of aftermarket addons available - Owned one of these for 9 years. It's a great presentation piece. The aesthetics are wonderful. That being said, I did have some FTF/FTE issues in the first 1000 rounds. After a reliability job it got better, but I still had my doubts about carrying this as a SD weapon with the concern it could FTF when needed most. During range visits, I'd get about 1 FTE per 50 rounds. Tried multiple differ...
Mossberg - 500

This is my BOOM STICK! - My Mossberg 500 kicks ass. With an aftermarket pistol grip on the pump and the shoulder stock I can shoot any type of cartridge and the gun stays where it is supposed to stay. The only downsides of this model with this furniture is that it is big and heavy. The heat shield and side saddle shell caddy only makes it heavier. Still the star it loses here for big and heavy it would lose in ano...
FN Herstal - Five-seveN

Lighweight, high capacity, and hyper accurate - what more could you want? - How can you not like a gun that lets you top load 20 rifle style rounds into it, has a flame that looks compares with jets taking off from a carrier, and makes you a better shooter because of its accuracy? Oh, I forgot to mention that it has all of kick of a BB gun. The only negative I can say about the Five-seveN is the cost of the ammo. It's similar to 44 Magnum so it's certainly not outland...
Steyr - S40 / S40-A1

Sights take some getting used to but once you do, nice gun - I give it a three because as a compact it is kind of big and I think it would be a liitle difficult for me to conceal without a jacket or hoodie. That said, once you do get used to the sights and the trigger it is a lot of fun. And at 25yrds, the gun is more accurate than I am capable of taking advantage of (proof of that here http://www.easybakegunclub.com/blog/456/Steyr-S40-A1---Range-Report....
Kel-Tec - PMR-30

It is light weight, accurate and reliable. Can't beat 30rds of 22 mag. - Kel Tec's PMR-30 is reported as a hard gun to find. I can understand why, they are really fun to shoot and don't last long on any LGS shelf. With 30rd mags of 22 WMR it's like you never run out of ammo. It is light weight, accurate and reliable after a short break in period. It would make an excellent pack gun or just a fun range gun. Kel Tec is working on putting out the carbine brother to the P...
Sig Sauer - P250 Compact

Carry with confidence - I've fired all sorts of rounds through this, I have a 9mm and I carry it confidently. Its double action, each trigger pull is very long, no saftey. I've sent 9mm 115, 124, 145 FMJ and JHP out of it, not one problem. Easy to strip, clean, and keep it maintained. If you're looking for something to start with, I'd go for one of these. Very solid, has a decent weight to it, nice sights. Comes i...
Beretta - 92 Series

Jon Woo doesn't know what he's talking about. - I fired this gun a couple of times in my life and I really don't like it. While reliability is on its side, the accuracy just isn't there. I am not a crack shot or anything, but I know from experience that I can be way more accurate with other guns in the same size and caliber. The round sites are weird and the bullet doesn't seem to go anywhere close to where the sites suggest it would. There...
Springfield Armory - XD(M)

The pistol that I've named, "Say┼Źnara." - I initially bought this pistol because my Sons are big fans of the video game, "Half Life 2," and couldn't afford the HK USP Match. But shooting this bad boy? Holy crap! I have never missed what I was aiming at. Easy to clean and nice to carry. Thanks to the CCWComfortSling, I can carry the XDm and 2 spare magazines with no problem at all. I shall be a sad man when I have to send this weapon t...
Ruger - 10/22

Best little .22 EVER! - I own 2 do these, a walnut stock standard model and one of the new Takedown models. Both are great shooting, irreplaceable members of my collection. My daughter (9yo) LOVES the scoped standard model. She's been shooting it since before she could hold it up. The Takedown model is my favorite truck-gun. A buddy got himself the International Model with Mannlicher stock. Waiting for the weath...
Harrington & Richardson Firearms - Topper

Feels like an old shotgun should - Mine is an older model Topper 20 gauge; 1950's give or take. Fun to shoot but with no recoil pad you will feel it when you do, and maybe the next day also. Ejecting the spent shell might be the best thing about firing it; When you break the barrel it literally shoots the empty shell 5 or 6 feet behind you (it's fun to do when someone is behind you). I was surprised at the accuracy and the shot sp...
Glock - G19

2nd best gun made... - ... in Austria. Not that it is a bad gun, just nothing speacial. The best thing about the gun is the trigger. I really like it. What I don't like is the angle between the grip and the barrel. I suppose if you're used to it, or take the time to get used to it, it would be okay, but I don't want to. If you are interested in the Glock, you would be better off looking at the Steyr. Same great trigger...
CZ ceska zbrojovka - CZ-75

This is a terrific shooter with a sinfully nice SAO action. - I purchased a cz75b from Angus Hobdell's CZCustom website. I had them install the single action trigger mechanism, fiber optic front, and competition rear sights, while I chose to add the competition hammer. This gun shoots far better than I ever will! Despite a healthy 33 oz weight, I have no trouble carrying it OWB concealed. If you are a -10 lb vegetarian, it might be problematic, but as a ...
Smith and Wesson - M&P9 Shield

Definitly Worth the Wait - <a href="http://easybakegunclub.com/blog/3015/The-search-for-the-Holy-Grail.html">I waited a long time to get my hands on this gun.</a> It conceals great and the recoil is easily managed. Accuracy is better than I am. So far it has had no issues with any kind of ammo I've found to put through it; just keeps chugging along. And takedown and cleaning is simple (a few hundred rounds and its not very ...
FN Herstal - SCAR

Best rifle I've fired yet. - This gun has no recoil. None. The recoil you get is that of a 22; not a 223. Not to forget that it just looks bad-ass. I didn't get to fire many rounds, but this gun rocks. Thanks to the random range dude that offered to let three strangers (who looked like kids in a toy store when we came over to see his SCAR) fire 20 or so rounds from his $2,000 gun. The only question left about this gun is ho...
Sig Sauer - SIG556

Exactly what I expected - The gun looks mean. Collapsible stock, full rails, red dot. Surprisingly little recoil; probably a result of the only complaint I have about the gun. It's pretty heavy. Real fun to shoot and accurate as hell. It's what you would expect if you asked the Swiss to make a combat rifle. Just glad I wasn't the one the had to pick up the tab for it. Score would have been higher if I hadn't fired the Stey...
Ruger - SR22

Fun, but not the most reliable .22 - For what I got it for, teaching my nephew about shooting, it will serve it's purpose well. I've had quite a few problems with FTE's, but only when rapid firing for some reason. The controls are a little funny and the capacity leaves a little to be desired, but it is fun to shoot and the low recoil and (usually) cheap ammo is nice when introducing a new shooter. Not bad, but there are better .22's ...
Springfield Armory - XD-S

Totally, completely, and amazingly AWESOME - (This is from my lovely Wife's mouth -who carries this weapon every day) "Very easy to handle. Small. Accurate and easy to conceal, and pretty. I don't even feel it on me, and it saved my butt once when some loser tried to get into my vehicle. He about pooped his pants when he saw my hand gripping my baby. I'm very confident that I can use it to defend myself and my family. It's a very comforta...
Glock - G30

Excellent larger CC weapon - I use my Model 30 during the winter when I have more clothing to cover it. I'm not that big a man so it can be difficult to conceal some of the larger guns, and the only reason I call this one larger is the double stack mag makes the grip a bit fat. Bigger guys needn't worry as they can more easily conceal it. Great gun all around though, owned mine since 2003 and it has never malfunctioned in ...
Glock - G22

This gun goes BANG every time you pull the trigger. - #1...its ugly #2...You can field strip it in 5 seconds, and reassemble just as quick #3...Never, ever fails to fire #4...Gen4 has a pretty agressive grip...advise wearing a shooting glove when at the range #5...Trigger safety...lots of people don't trust it, but a good quality firearm will never discharge by itself #6...Pricing at big box stores puts it within reach of pretty much anybody...
CZ ceska zbrojovka - CZ 85 B

Left handed? Look no further! - The cz-75b is one of the unsung heroes of the pistol world. Tell someone you have a CZ-75 and you will probably get a deer in headlights look followed by the question "What?" But it rocks. The 85 is the same as the 75 with ambidextrous controls allowing the left handed shooter to enjoy the same reliability, accuracy and overall quality that right handed shooters get to enjoy....
Kimber - Pro Carry II

I own four of they, love them but they have issues. - They are light weight, reliable, accurate, with this said here are their flaws. 1) On two of the 4 that I own, the safety / slide release plunger tube has come loose and needed to be re-staked. 2) On the models with a aluminum feed ramp, you must be certain when using JHPs that they are not eating into the ramp. Nosler JHPs tore into the ramp on my Crimson Custom Carry II....
Astra Unceta - Cub

Like a Cap Gun - This was just fun to shoot; it's just so small. The mechanism is a little confusing and counter-intuitive, but once you figure it out it's not a problem. The fixed barrel actually unscrews in order to disassemble it, but makes it very accurate; even for such a tiny gun. Fun gun, going to hate to have to give it back to it's true owner, but going to shoot it a lot until I do....
Beretta - 92 Series

Awesome Italian work of art! - I've had my trusty 92FS since 1996. Heavy to carry, but extremely reliable. I'll have to carry it as my main EDC when I send my Springfield XDm to their shop for the threaded/extended barrel while waiting for my suppressor's tax stamp. Used it for the WeLikeShooting challenge, "Get Your Riggs On," a couple of months ago. Wasn't too bad, but I could have done better....
Beretta - CX4 Storm

Cool rifle. Low recoil. - Fired to 40 cal. Fun rifle with not much recoil. Very accurate, great front sight; didn't really even need the rear sight to put it on target. Only got to put a few rounds through it as it was borrowed from a guy at the range, but it was enough to make me like the rifle. Only issue was the magazine would drop from the rifle when firing, guy had tape holding it in....
Ruger - LC9

I carry this more than any other handgun I own! - This is my #1 daily carry weapon. It's small, concealable, lightweight and I'm accurate with it out to 20 feet...which is more than enough for a personal carry firearm. Over 1000 rounds through it, no problems. Manual states not to fire +P regularly through it....practice with Winchester white box. I carry loaded with the Hornady Critical Duty rounds though....
Remington - Nylon 66

Inconsistant sighting - I only owned one for a short while. The rear sight was attached to the sheet metal receiver cover, which allowed it to shift independently from the barrel. I could hit the target, but never consistently accurately. This gun was apparently designed as an inexpensive 'throw-away' and was probably best used when one could use the barrel to sight at close ranges....
Sig Sauer - Mosquito

Not a fan, enough trouble to make swear off Sigs - Two to three rounds, max, and FTE; stove pipe. Tried different power springs that came with the gun. Same thing. Checked that I was using proper ammo, was using exact brand and power recmmended by Sig. Emailed Customer Service,; nothing. Called Customer Service; nothing again. Gave up and got rid of the gun.Swore off purchasing a Sig again. Problem solved. ...
Springfield Armory - M1A

Perfect - Come hell or high water this rifle will work, and not only will it work you can shoot the wings off a fly with it. Very low required maintenance, I've gone shooting all day and been done cleaning in 15 minutes something you could never say about an AR. I have also never experienced any malfunction with her. My first rifle and Ill have it until the day I die....
Mossberg - 500

This is a classic, and loads of fun to shoot. - 18.5" barrel. Tactical recoil reducing pistol grip. I use recoil reduced 00 buck in mine. It makes shooting it from positions other than from hip without dropping it or hitting youself in the face a breeze. And let me tell anyone who hasn't fired a pistol grip 12 gauge holding it out like a rifle, it is awesome. And you will feel like a bad mo-fo....
Remington - Scoremaster 511

One of the best plinkers I've ever fired - Got this 1960's model from my father (he actually bought it with green stamps). A little cleaning and refinishing and it looks and fires like brand new. This rifle is seriously accurate, it's no wonder so many people still have them. It is a great learner rifle, and it's fun and cheap at the range. We use mine to play gun range battle-ship....
Sig Sauer - Mosquito

I see what all the buzz is about.. - I really do enjoy shooting this pistol. My favorite feature would have to be the night sights it is equipped with. I enjoy the way it fills my hand without being too big. It is a well-balanced firearm. I have not had any problems with this firearm after the first 500 rounds have been put through it. Very reliable and accurate....
Hi Point - 45 ACP

An expensive paper weight - Outdated design, heavy, ugly as sin. If you want a cheap gun to beat the crap out of, this is it. Many of the women that I know that have fired one greatly dislike it and the way it functions. I have questions as to the durability over time, and wouldn't buy one. I know some who do own it and say it functions ok for what it is....
Smith and Wesson - Model 19 (Combat Magnum)

Amazing quality as always from S&W - The model 19 was the first handgun I ever fired. My dad got it from a buddy who had used it during his days as a FL highway patrolman. Even with all the new technology out there, you can't beat an ole six shooter for reliability. Being able to shoot .38 shells also means the wife will shoot it. Great all around piece....
Kel-Tec - P-11

The first gun I bought for my Wife. OW! - It did what it was supposed to do. But I hated that double action only trigger pull. Someone told me that it was ELEVEN POUNDS! I believe it. It also pinched the heck out of the palm between the edge of the magazine and the grip. Sold it the following week, and bought her a Springfield XDs .45 for her birthday. ...
Izhmash - AK-47

Seriously fun - If you have ever seen a war movie you have wanted to shoot one. If you've ever shot one, you want one. Be careful, if you haven't yet, and ever get to shoot one you'll be saving to get your own. Downside is that it gets real hot while shooting and occasionally you have to wait to let it cool just to hold it...
Colt - Single Action Army Revolver

The gun that started a revolution - I've been fortunate enough to shoot one from 1898 and I have shot the newest gen model as well. Can't say enough good things about it. It never fails to shoot, it feels good, it looks like it means business. One of these with a John Wayne holster and you'll feel like you are back in the Wild West again....
Walther - PPK and PPK/S

May be because it is my carry but, this is my favorite gun - This is my carry. I love this gun. Accurate, and with over 1,000 rounds, reliable. Never a problem. Easy take down and easy to clean. Plus, I feel a little like James Bond when I fire it. The only reason it isn't a 5 for me is I haven't fired every gun yet and I'm leaving myself some room just in case....
Walther - P22

Great little plinker - Great little plinker with lots of accessories available. The extended barrel aids in increasing accuracy, and the threaded barrel allows addons or even catch cans for cleaning. My wife and kids shoot this one all day long. I'd imagine I have at least 7-8 thousand rounds through it and no issues....
Hi Point - 40 S&W Carbine

WOW! This is more accurate than I'd thought! - Only gave this a 4.5 because I'm an idiot. After taking it out to shoot for the first time, I came home to break it down for cleaning. LAUNCHED a spring straight into outer freaking space! Still, great weapon for the price. Glad they finally came out with the 15-round magazines, too....
Smith and Wesson - Model 629

If it was made to make you smile when you fire it, they were hugely successfull - Not sure what I would do with it if I got one, but that doesn't seem to have stopped me from wanting one. There is just something cool about firing a large caliber, SAO revolver. I mean, come on, if it was good enough for a bad ass like Dirty Harry, how is it not good enough for you....
Smith and Wesson - M&P9

Accurate and reliable, what more could you want - This was my first pistol. Probably more than 1,000 rounds through it. Still love it. Very accurate. Though the safety is a little to easy to disengage for me consider it as a carry. Easy to take down and clean, even after a long day at the range it never seems all that dirty ...
Benelli - Nova Pump Tactical

Very nice shotgun - excellent price - Got this shotgun for home protection. We keep it ready to rock in the bedroom in the event of a break in. Hopefully will never have to use it. The price was good and the shotgun is fun to shoot and easy to clean. Would recommend it to anyone who is in need of a shotgun....
Para Ordnance - Warthog Single Action

A little big for a carry but if it fits you, get it - Been wanting to fire one of these for a while. It did not disappoint. A lot of power in a little gun with less recoil than I expected. Would make an excellent carry for someone big enough to conceal it, or if you lived somewhere that you could wear a jacket or hoodie often....
Heckler and Koch (H&K) (HK) - USP Compact

Top of the line - HK is a top of the line weapons manufacturer and this weapon is no exception. I own one of these in 40 caliber. I have probably 3000 rounds thru it and its only had maybe one malfunction. HKs are made with extra strong recoil springs so they can cycle pretty much any ammo....
FN Herstal - SCAR

I only fired 2 shots but they were awesome! - There was no recoil. I mean NO RECOIL. I wish I could have spent more time with this gun but it was just some random dude at the range letting us have a go at it. The only thing stopping me from buying that is the price. I imagine it will be my next assault rifle....
Sig Sauer - P238

Perfect concealed carry weapon - Okay, so this gun fits me, perfectly, with the extended mag. I've handled a lot of firearms during my search for a carry weapon. I've always heard it said that when it's right, you just know. Well, I picked this gun up and heard the angelic choir start singing....
CZ ceska zbrojovka - CZ 85 B

Love it - CZ make one hell of a gun. They don't seem to get the wide recognition compared to some other big manufacturers that they should. I just recently got a chance to fire one. Very comfortable gun. If I am ever in the market for a full size .40, this will be the one....
Beretta - Model 21 Bobcat

Easily concealable pocket gun - Great for conceal purposes. The pop top barrel is nice for loading, working the slide is kinda tough. it's a bit finicky on ammo though, must use 40gr to get proper cycling. I probably wouldn't buy it again, but it works well for a woman's purse carry gun....
Ruger - 22/45

So much cheap fun, reminds me of an ex I have - Maybe it was because of the red dot sight on it, but this gun was accurate and fun as hell. I understand the fun of firing something large like a .44 or the AK-47, that's easy to get. I don't understand why a .22 pistol is as much fun as this, it just is....
Kel-Tec - P-3AT

Decent concealable carry piece - I've had this one for quite a while. It was the last of the "pocket guns" I bought. I carry it in an ankle holster. It's not really pleasurable to shoot in any quantity at the range. But it serves it's purpose as a small everyday carry piece....
FN Herstal - Five-seveN

A unique gun that is fun to shoot - 20 round mag, oddly lightwieght (almost feels and looks like a toy gun), and virtually no recoil . A little un-nerving to fire the first time if you aren't expecting the flame that comes out of the barrel. This pistol is serously fun to fire. ...
Sig Sauer - P226

Love it - I shot a lot of pistols before deciding to buy the 226 navy. As soon as i held it and fired my first magazine it just clicked, this was the pistol for me, don't let anyone tell you you cant conceal carry it either, I do it nearly every day....
Glock - G17

Reliable, crisp trigger, will fire anything. - I've owned a G17 for a few years now, and have used it as my car gun as well. It's always been reliable and has never failed me personally. Don't limp wrist though...because I have seen stove pipes from that. (My little sister shot it)...
Beretta - PX4 Storm Sub-Compact

Wasn't as impressed as I hoped I'd be - Wasn't a bad gun, just nothing really special about it. There are deffinitly smaller sub-compacts out there that are just as powerful. It was comfortable to hold with the magazine extension but had more recoil than other smaller 9mm's....
FN Herstal - FNS-9

Very good carry gun. - I have shot about 5000 round through this gun. It still had yet to jam, miss fire, or have any problems. I would recommend this for someone who is looking for a good carry gun but still want to have a little bigger round then a .380....
Sig Sauer - SP2022

I own it and love it! - I have made this my home tactical defense weapon. I've added a green dot sight, green dot laser and 260 lumen light to it. It's uber-dependable, and I've never had a FTF or FTE after more than 2500 rounds. Hey, its a Sig!...
Taurus - 1911

Low muzzle flip, smooth trigger....a 1911. - One of my Taurus' best guns I would have to say. Many people dislike Taurus because, well they're gun snobs; however Taurus hit a home-run with this 1911. Never had a failure; many hi-cost features on this well budgetted gun....
Kimber - Super Carry Ultra

Awesome - The only issue is with the plunger tube for the safety / slide release is coming loose. Its a tack driver for such a short barrel. Doesn't share the issues with the other aluminum feed ramp models. This is my favorite CCW...
Ruger - Mark III

markIII hunter 7 inch slab side - this is definitely a competition pistol extremely accurate - running targets out to 50 yards add in a valquartsen trigger kit and a few other parts trigger at 2 pounds flat it does not get much better than this...
Springfield Armory - XD Service Model

This gun fits like a glove - Even with a 4" barrel, this is my #1 carry gun. Mine is in 9mm which some may say is minimal for self defense, however, if you can place one or two shots center mass I believe it would be more than adequate (IMHO)....
Beretta - 92 Series

Didn't quite fit me... - This gun didn't quite fit my hand, but, being a female who has almost always had to adjust to the gun I'm shooting, that is nothing new. I really love this gun. It's very accurate, and the recoil is minimal....
Kel-Tec - P-32

Great little carry gun - This is the gun my wife carries daily. She like the lower caliber as it doesn't wear out her hands while shooting at the range. .32 caliber ammo is relatively cheap, so practicing doesn't cost a fortune....
Springfield Armory - XD(M)

I have the 3.8 - Springfield, Springfield, Springfield....nothing much more to say. One of my carry weapons. Only dropped it 1/2 star due to the recoil, but it is a short barrel. Very concealable and high-capacity mags....
FN Herstal - P90 / PS90

ps90 - have it... wish more manufacturers made ammo. its hard to find, although fiocci makes it here for fn, they are the only ones. great shooter, no recoil and pretty accurate. 50 rounds, and cool looking....
Beretta - U22 Neos

Fun, fun, fun...even my wife loves this one! - Classic italian design melded with future looks. Accuracy is great out of the box, and you can shoot for hours. Easy take down. Handle angle is different but takes very little getting used to....
Walther - PK380

Lightweight, good trigger, scary safety. Great for a CCW. - This was formerly my conceal carry weapon; though I have since sold it. A decent magazine capacity, easy handling and use. The finish is very touchy though; scratched up pretty easily....
Kimber - Pro Carry II

One of the finest handguns for under $1500 you will find. - I have this with the Crimson Trace grips, zeroed at 30 feet. Classic 1911 machine with fantastic fit and finish. Dropped it 1/2 star due to needing a paper clip to field strip....
Smith and Wesson - M&P15

Good rifle all around - I have had this rifle since 2005. I have used it in my tac shooting compatitions & for hunting. I have modified mine just slightly. Good for home defence too....
Kel-Tec - PF-9

Great size for a powerfull carry gun - The size is certainly ideal for carry, but I'm not a huge fan of the DAO. Not great as a range gun but, then again, thats not what it was designed for....
Kel-Tec - PF-9

Great conceal carry gun!! - Great for conceal carry. With the right cartridge it offers good stopping power. Due to it's light weight the recoil is felt. Not a plinking gun....
Izhmash - AK-47

WASR 10 version - Cheap to own, cheap to shoot, but goes bang every time. Normally cheap and guns aren't a good combo, but the WASR may be an exception to that rule....

CZ ceska zbrojovka - CZ-75 P-07 Duty

I like this gun also, reminds me a lot of my M&P9 if it was a hammer fire - Can't go wrong with a full size 9mm. It's a CZ, which is always seems to mean it's a good gun....
Ruger - Super Redhawk

This thing is a beast - I've shot one of these bad boys in 44 magnum. Its big , heavy and loud and a blast to shoot....
