Abusive husband shot, killed by neighbor (Texas)

Back on Tuesday (January 29th), a Harris County, Texas man heard his neighbors fighting and then saw that fight change as he watched the husband, now identified as 44-year-old Victor Daniel, physically attack his wife.

Seeing Daniel hit his wife, the man tried to intervene to stop the woman from being beaten. Rather than stop his attack, Daniel turned on the man and struck him in the head with a brick.

Being struck once with bare hands can be a fatal attack, much less with a brick, so the man drew his gun and fired at Daniel, fatally wounding him.

Police arrived to fine Daniel dead on the scene and the hero in need of medical condition for his head wound. He was treated at the hospital and released.

In a large percentage of domestic violence cases the victim won't even file charges!!! It's sad but it's almost like they like getting whooped!! Also sad that this story could have ended differently for the shooter if this incident had happened in another state.

You hit that one on the head. Having lived between Arizona and Texas for many years of my life, I'm constantly amazed at the laws in other states. Even in supposedly gun-friendly Florida I find the laws to have a little too much New Jersey influence... much like the crowds on our beach.

I am not sure what happen with this case but I can tell you from experience that a lot of domestic violence charges are bull shit. If you touch another like grab their arm or a simple pushing to get them off of you the cops will arrest you. I am sure there are times when it necessary if arrest someone but when the state and police department benefit from someone else’s misery it’s hard to stop them
