Anti-Gun Group Releases Moronic New Ad Campaign

Resource: http://www.ivillage.com/moms-demand-action-launches-choose-one-gun-control-psas/6-a-533491
The gun control group Moms Demand Action has released a new series of ads comparing guns to things that have been banned in the name of child safety and asking "Why not (ban) assault weapons?".

Rather than make a compelling argument against guns, the ads seem to make a compelling argument that we've let political correctness run amok in this nation. When I hear talk that schools have banned Little Red Riding Hood because she has a bottle of wine in her basket or that schools have banned Dodgeball, I don't think about how great that is.

I think it's flat out stupid.

The lack of clear cut competition such as Dodgeball ("If you can dodge a wrench you can...") has left us with a generation of kids who genuinely believe they are that damned special and the we should all be happy to be in their presence.

And you really can't get much more un-American than banning books. Little Red Riding Hood has a bottle of wine in her basket. I've heard and read that story a hundred times in my life and never realized she had it. Moreover, I don't even drink so how much impact did it have on me? None.

Hell, I'd have to drink too if my grandmother made me ride through some dark and twisted ass woods to visit her and she was so hairy that she could be confused for a wolf. That's a rough damned life.

The only reasonable ban in the ad campaign was Kinder chocolate eggs. What are they you ask? Don't feel bad, I had no idea either. It seems some rocket scientist complete moron thought it would be a good idea to make little chocolate eggs with plastic toys in the middle.

Which is more dangerous? The damned chocolate with a choking hazard sure as hell is. Who bites slowly into a little ass piece of chocolate? If I got one of those I would be at risk of choking, much less my kids. It's just a dumb as dogs**t idea of a product and flat out dangerous.

As for how dangerous the gun is in a child's hands? Let's ignore statistics and reality for a moment like the gun control advocates do. This means we ignore the National Center for Health Statistics:

Top Causes of Death - Kids (5 - 9)

* Unintentional Injury......1176......38.97%
* Motor Vehicle Traffic......621......20.58%
* Drowning......................159........5.27%
* Fire/burn.......................153.......5.07%
* Suffocation.....................40........1.33%
* Other Land Transport......33........1.09%
* Pedestrian, Other...........27........0.89%
* Struck by or Against.......20........0.66%
* Unspecified....................20........0.66%
* Fall...............................18.........0.60%
* Poisoning......................15.........0.50%
* Firearm.........................14.........0.46%

Please don't get me wrong, every time a child that young dies it's heartbreaking and a tragedy for that family and all of their friends. But to portray guns as this terrible threat to children when we're talking about 14 deaths per year for a nation of 300 million? Let's stop playing emotional terror games.

None of those kids appear to be 18 years old (although as I get older, I notice more and more adults look this young) so those would be their parents guns. It looks like a parenting failure that there's no supervision over their guns or the children. Do you know any gun owner who would leave their 6 year old with a loaded firearm and no idea what to do with it (see: discipline, trigger)?

I already made this point when I said i wanted my lawn darts back. and you are right, it doesnt say anything about guns, it just shows how americans are systematically turning themselves into giant fucking pussies.

Another point in how some education in firearm safety would help prevent a few of those whopping 0.46% of deaths, pics 1 and 3... finger on the trigger.

Plus, does anyone else think the first kid with the dodgeball kinda looks like he has been hit in the head one to many times with a dodgeball already.
