Brits want their guns back; public disarmament failed miserably

Resource: http://www.statesmanjournal.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2013306080025&gcheck=1&nclick_check=1
The death of a soldier seems to shake up the already shaken public. A man gets hacked to death in the middle of the street while people watched helplessly are changing public opinion on self-defense.

When a major newspaper did a poll on what people though was the most important issue that needed to be addressed more than 20,400 people responded and a whopping 86.4 % wanted to end the 1997 gun ban.

Parliament adopted the handgun ban following the tragic 1997 Dunblane massacre of school children; an incident that created an aftermath of emotion not unlike our own Sandy Hook tragedy. But unlike us they though the banning handguns and long arms was going to make life better for them but after 16 years they realized that banning gun ownership by lawful people does nothing to discourage criminals.

How true! But the naive Brits are screwed, their government will never let the citizens have control of their gun rights and liberty! Just like our government would never let us control our own destiny if they ever got their hands on our firearms. Even registration will eventually lead to taxation and then confiscation.

someone mention that the English government is not democratic so the common man/woman has no say so on how the government is run. I for one have no idea how they run things over there but I read and what I read is nuts. there was an article that a man was getting robbed and he shot the robbers. now the robbers are suing him over lost wages and pain and suffering

"now the robbers are suing him over lost wages and pain and suffering "

If it's anything like here, you can sue for anything. It only matters if you can actually win the case.
