The moment was tense as the police were called to a suspicious looking package in a downtown area of Iowa City for several hours
[i]“It has been determined that the suspicious package was not a bomb or incendiary device and at no time was the safety of the public jeopardized,”
But while checking out the package out Steven Crittenden, 32, decided it was a good idea to light a “silver bomb cracker” onto Dubuque Street about 11:30 p.m. Sunday while the Johnson County Metro Bomb Squad investigated the suspicious package
He is accused of throwing the firecracker into the street near Deadwood Tavern and went back into the bar. Crittenden later left the bar and refused to answer questions from officers, according to the complaint. Two more “silver bomb crackers” were found in his possession at the time and he was arrested.
The Johnson County Metro Bomb Squad is hoping the poop stains are not permanent
