Will Wiggins and his mother were asleep in bed around 1a.m. Friday morning when two men wearing jackets with hoods and bandanas to cover their face broke into their Lauderdale County, Mississippi home.
A shootout ensued with gunfire exchanged between will and the home invaders. Will says the invaders shots came within inches of striking his mother's head. Will does believe he struck one of the invaders.
The men fled and police are looking for the suspects.
"Of course, this particiular instance we have two individuals who were in bed, asleep when someone broke into their house," explains Chief Deputy Ward Calhoun. "However, they were prepared to defend themselves and they did so. And in this particular instance, neither one of the victim's were injured."
