Democratic (duh) State Representative Randy Dunn from Kansas City, Missouri has introduced House Bill 1940 to the Missouri State Legislature.
HB1940 would roll back Missouri's Castle Doctrine and re-instate the failed and dangerous "Duty to Retreat" laws of decades past. Representative Dunn's bill would require someone to attempt to retreat if possible, justify that they had no other recourse to deadly force, and eliminate immunity from civil lawsuits if deadly force is used in defense of your family inside your home.
Ted Eiskant told reporters, "No, I'm not going to run away and leave myself and leave my kids and family behind." That sentiment was taken further by gun owner Stephanie Brown when she said, "If they've already entered my home, they've already crossed the line."
