The saga of Detroit residents fighting back against the plague of crime continued yesterday (April 9, 2014).
Two 19-year-old, a male and a female, broke a window to enter a residence just before 6 o'clock in the morning. The 47-year-old homeowner heard the intruders, grabbed his rifle (no confirmation on type of rifle), and opened fire.
Both suspects were struck and tried to flee - responding officers found both just outside the home. The male was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital, the female was struck in the leg and is listed in critical condition.
Our favorite police chief, Detroit's Chief James Craig said, "When someone is confronted with an imminent threat to life, they have the lawful right to defend themselves, and I stand by that. That's the law".
