The 22-year-old son of notorious baby killer (that's not hyperbole) Kermit Gosnell was shot this morning (June 4, 2014) while burglarizing a row home shared by a group of undergrads in West Philadelphia on Wednesday morning.
According to police Barron Alexander (formerly Barron Gosnell) started sneaking into the row house shared by several undergraduate students around 7a.m.. Alexander broke into the house three times while the residents were home stealing cash, an XBox, a laptop, and other electronics.
As Alexander crawled through the rear bathroom window for the third break-in, one of the residents awoke.
"He was taking items from the property and a resident from the property woke up startled," said Police Captain John Przepiorka. "A struggle started at that point, the resident screamed for help."
A roommate heard the scream, grabbed a legally owned firearm and opened fire on Alexander, striking him numerous times. Alexander was transported to the University of Pennsylvania hospital where he is listed in stable but critical condition.
It is unknown, and essentially irrelevant, if Alexander was armed.
Two years ago, Alexander legally dropped his father's last name, claiming he could not get work or an internship due to his father's conviction.
Fun fact: The third roommate slept through the entire ordeal.
