A Kokomo, Indiana homeowner and the administration of the local psych ward had an unexpected bit of excitement this morning.
It seems 31-year-old Felecia Lewis had been in the Howard County jail and was having severe behavioral health issues. As a result, the Sheriff's office received a court order for Lewis to receive psychiatric care at Community Howard Regional Health.
Wednesday, Lewis escaped the psychiatric facility and attempted to break into a nearby residence wearing just her hospital gown. The homeowner shot Lewis and she returned to the Regional Health center for treatment of both the gunshot wounds and the psychiatric issues.
The homeowner has not been charged with a crime.
