The neighborhood around LAX was stunned Thursday (June 26th) afternoon when gunfire erupted.
"We heard like seven shots, bang bang bang bang, real loud," said witness Anthony White. "I saw a guy running; he was holding his stomach. He was running toward the Westin hotel. I think he collapsed and that’s where he died."
Two armed men entered the Nature's Cure medical marijuana dispensary just before one o'clock in the afternoon. One of the men immediately opened fire on a store security guard. The guard returned fire and struck the robber in the stomach.
"One of the suspects was struck by gunfire. That suspect was a male black that fled westbound and later expired due to his injuries," said LAPD Captain Brian Johnson. "Second suspect, all we know is he was a male black that fled in a dark-colored vehicle, possibly black, westbound from the location, and we have no other information at this time."
"In a matter of seconds, cops were here and it was crazy," White said. "It was like a war zone."
