Confronted with multiple intruders an armed homeowner opened fire, killing one and injuring the other.
"The deceased suffered the consequences that come sometimes when you break into somebody's house," said Assistant Police Chief Lee Vance.
Just after 2:30 Friday morning a Jackson, Mississippi homeowner heard strange sounds inside his home. He grabbed his handgun and went to investigate the noise. What he found was Jonquez Porter and his accomplice Romelo Porter, inside the home.
"The homeowners confronted them. He shot one individual several times. The second one was able to escape through a window," Vance said.
Porter, 19, was struck multiple times and killed.
Porter was struck once in the leg breaking his femur. He was able to flee the home by jumping through a window but quickly captured down the street.
