The Indianapolis, Indiana police department got some help Saturday morning (July 19th) when a fugitive with a warrant was shot by an armed homeowner.
The homeowner returned to find his home ransacked and heard noises upstairs. He grabbed his handgun and went to investigate.
As the homeowner came up the stairs he came face to face with the criminal and fired a single shot, striking him in the arm.
The wounded criminal ran out a side door of the house and was picked up by police less than a block away. When officers ran his name they found he had an arrest warrant outstanding.
Early in the investigation, detectives found evidence of forced entry and no charges are expected to be filed against the homeowner.
