DETROIT, MICHIGAN - A 10-year-old boy shot his father in the back during a fight with the boy's mother.
According to WWJ TV in Detroit:
It's almost unheard of for a gun to go off accidentally. It's possible that the gun went off sooner than the boy expected but there is no doubt that he was trying to protect his mother and was concerned for her safety.
Someone purporting to be the boy's aunt, the father's sister, called a local radio station and said:
"It shouldn’t happen... and it wasn’t like that he was in there beating her," said the woman, who did not give her name. "They had an argument and they got to fighting - and I don’t know where that gun came from. I don’t know where that gun came from and it shouldn't have been in the house."
So he wasn't beating her but they had an argument that turned into a fight? Is it just me or once you start physically fighting with your spouse you've entered the domestic violence zone?
As for what the gun was doing there? Well, ma'am, they live in Detroit so they definitely need a gun in the house.
