WW2 Veteran & jewelry store wins gunfight with armed robber (Florida)

PALM BEACH, FLORIDA - 89-year-old Arthur M. Lewis is a decorated World War 2 veteran, owner of The Jewelry Exchange... and kind of a badass

Sunday afternoon a man identified by police as Patrick Jarvis entered the store under the guise of having his watch fixed. Moments later, Jarvis drew a handgun.

As Arthur told reporters, "I thought he was going to kill me as soon as I saw the gun. I thought, 'This time, I'm dead'".

The two men wrestled for a few moments before Arthur managed to get the upper hand against the man half his age. Both men opened fire.

Arthur took a grazing round to the arm but managed to strike Jarvis with six rounds, including four shots to the chest.

Jarvis continued to fight despite the multiple gunshot wounds before abandoning the fight and fleeing for his waiting SUV driven by Raven Simone Hill. Hill began driving Jarvis to the hospital but realized he was dying - so she asked for help from a passing police officer.

Jarvis was taken to the hospital and placed under arrest on charges of charges of armed robbery to a business, felon in possession of a firearm, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and armed burglary.

This was not Arthur's first gunfight inside the store. Back in 2010, a 20-year-old entered the store, drew a gun and fired at Arthur at point blank range. Arthur drew his gun and returned five shots at the intruder. Arthur said that day was scary but didn't compare to Sunday's
