His "armed" attack came to an abrupt end when the store clerk drew his own handgun.
According to Masslive.com,
"He put it in my mouth," said the owner of Walnut Convenience Store, who pulled out a real gun after fighting 20-year-old Fernell Pelzer.
Pelzer pleaded with the shop owner not to hurt him, according to ABC40 News, which obtained store surveillance footage of the crime being committed.
"I say, 'I'm not gonna shoot ya,' and I was holding him till the cops got here, and that's what I did," the owner told ABC40 reporter Brendan Monahan.
The store clerk, who has asked to keep his identity private, held Felzer at gunpoint while waiting for police to arrive. Police did arrive and took Felzer into custody on charges of armed robbery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
In court, Felzer's attorney told the judge he's a neighborhood recruiter for ARISE for Social Justice. Of course he is. That's why he's committing armed robbery - social justice.
According to their website "ARISE is a low-income rights, anti-oppression organization in Springfield, Massachusetts". I'm sure Felzer worked there for a very long time. It's not like an uber-liberal organization would lie about someone working for them... right?
