Store Clerk Returns Fire, Kills 2 of 3 Masked Robbers (Ohio)

CANTON - Confronted by three masked men armed with handguns, a store clerk drew his own gun and opened fire.

While details are still developing, initial reports are that three armed men in masks entered the store, the clerk drew his weapon, and a firefight broke out - starting inside the store and with the suspects continuing to shoot as they fled. According to local news,

Canton Police said the shooting took place at the Marathon Gas Station located at 2201 9th St. SW and happened during an attempted robbery Monday night around 9:25 p.m.

Officers were called to the scene and found a store employee with gunshot wounds to his legs.

The worker told police he had been shot during a robbery attempt by three masked subjects. The clerk did return fire, killing two of the three suspects.

One suspect was found near the 800 block of Smith Avenue Southwest and transported to a local hospital, where he later died. A second suspect was found near the 700 block of Dryden Avenue Southwest and also transported to a local hospital where he also died.
