Concealed Carrier Confronts Would-Be Rapist After Hearing Victim Scream, Jump From Window

"She got lucky. If it wasn't for all these people who cared enough to help her, and not turn the other cheek like so many people would, my daughter would be dead right now."

Those are the words of a Flint, Michigan mother after neighbors saved her daughter and forced her attacker out of his home at gunpoint.

Neighbor Jessica Abels heard a terrifying scream and saw a naked woman jumping from the window of a nearby home. Abels told reporters,

"Her eyes were all swollen and she had blood all over her and in her mouth. She was pretty messed up"

That's when the neighborhood sprung into action with several neighbors giving the 21-year-old woman clothing and comfort while another neighbor grabbed a gun and ordered the attacker to come outside at gunpoint.

The suspect left the house and then took off on foot with the armed neighbor in hot pursuit. The chase came to an end when the suspect was tackled by an undercover police officer with the aid of the concealed carrier.

According to the police report, the 21-year-old woman was walking home from the store when the suspect forced her into a vacant home and began beating and choking her. She was left with numerous bruises and several loose teeth because of the incident.

The man, Jeffrey McSwain, Jr. was charged with one count of assault with intent to commit sexual penetration
