27-year-old Jason Hicks broke into the man's home armed with a screwdriver and came face to face with the homeowner, who was armed with a shotgun.
Hicks ignored a command to leave the home so the homeowner fired a first warning shot. Hicks was not scared off by that shot.
The homeowner fired a second warning shot.
Rather than flee, Hicks tried to charge the homeowner.
This time, the homeowner shot Hicks in the knee.
Hicks fled the scene but was taken into custody after showing up at a Tennessee hospital a few hours later.
