It sucks to see something like this in the news. It's so heartbreaking. Apparently Eric Hummel, of Hobart Indiana was teaching his kids gun safety when he accidentally shot his daughter in the head at close range. He told police "She's dead, She's dead - I thought it was empty".
According to the story - Alchohol may or may not have been a factor but anyone who would say "I thought it was empty" has no business handling guns or teaching anyone anything about them. A sad, hard learned lesson.
